Sandy Bay in Porthcawl is a small, sheltered beach tucked between the town centre and the harbour. Its calm waters and sandy shoreline make it a popular spot for families, especially at low tide when there is plenty of space for paddling and beach games. With colourful beach huts nearby and views across the Bristol Channel, it has a traditional seaside feel.
The beach is close to shops, cafes and amusements, making it easy to combine a visit with a day out in Porthcawl. Sandy Bay is also a convenient place to relax, enjoy an ice cream or watch boats coming and going from the harbour. Dogs are now allowed on the beach from May 1st - Sept 30th, but are allowed outside these dates.
