Mountains & Countryside Kayaking Tour (3-Mile)

Explore the tranquil Brecon and Monmouth Canal on a guided kayaking adventure with Beezra Activities, starting from the Abergavenny area. The tour takes you on a three-mile paddle through the heart of South Wales’ countryside, where you savour quiet waterways fringed by lush woodland, open fields and distant mountain vistas. After arriving at the meeting point, you receive a full safety briefing from experienced instructors, are fitted with wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets, and are introduced to key paddling techniques before you step onto the water. Suitable for beginners and more experienced paddlers alike, the session is designed to build confidence as you glide at a leisurely pace along the canal.

Throughout the journey you’ll follow the slow-moving waterway under ancient bridges and past riverside vegetation, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature and escape the bustle of everyday life. As you paddle, your guide offers tips, encouragement and insights into the scenery and environment around you. The route spans roughly three-miles, taking roughly four hours from start to finish, with time allotted for stops, gentle exploration and moments to take in the scenery. All equipment is included in the price, and no previous kayaking experience is needed. You are simply advised to wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet, bring a towel, and perhaps a change of clothes for afterwards.
