Monknash Beach
About
With its sense of seclusion and natural beauty, Monknash Beach is a remote and unspoilt stretch of coastline near Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan, reached by a scenic walk along a river valley. The beach is known for its dramatic cliffs, wide rocky shore and peaceful atmosphere, making it a favourite with walkers and nature lovers.
At low tide, rock pools and fossil rich areas are revealed, as well as a wide sandy beach offering plenty to explore. The surrounding coastal paths provide excellent views along the Heritage Coast, with Nash Point lighthouse around 2.5km away along the clifftop footpath.
The walk from the car park to the beach is around 1km, so around 15 minutes, following the path of Nash Brook, and is very picturesque. There are a couple of stiles along the way so it's not suitable for buggies.
Parking
There is a small car park for Monknash Beach which costs £3 for the day - note that you need cash to put into the honesty box.
