Henrhyd Falls
About
Henrhyd Falls, the tallest waterfall in South Wales at 90ft (27 metres), is a breathtaking natural attraction nestled on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The waterfall cascades dramatically over a sandstone cliff into a wooded gorge, creating a stunning sight that draws visitors year-round. A well-marked footpath leads to the base of the waterfall - it only takes around ten minutes to walk from the car park but it's down a fairly steep hill followed by some steps on the other side, so not suitable for buggies.
At the falls you can follow the path to walk behind the cascade for a unique perspective, and if you're feeling brave you might fancy a dip in the pool. The surrounding area is rich in wildlife and natural beauty, making it a favourite spot for walkers, photographers and nature enthusiasts looking to experience one of Wales’s most picturesque landscapes. From Henrhyd Falls there is a marked footpath to Abercrave, which follows Nant Llech river on your left-hand side and takes in a few small waterfalls along the route.
Free parking is available in the small National Trust car park, or there is an overflow car park available at the campsite next door, but this is £5. Refreshments are available from a burger van, however there are no toilet facilities here.
