About

Carreg Cennen Castle is one of the most dramatically sited castles in Wales, perched high on a limestone cliff overlooking the surrounding countryside. Dating back to the thirteenth century, the castle played a key role in medieval conflicts and is renowned for its striking position and commanding views across the Brecon Beacons.

Visitors can explore the impressive ruins, walk along the exposed battlements and even venture into the natural cave beneath the castle, which adds a sense of adventure to the experience. The remote setting and rugged landscape make Carreg Cennen Castle a memorable destination for history enthusiasts, walkers and photographers alike.

Parking

Free parking is available at the farm shop car park located below the castle, with a short uphill walk leading to the entrance.
