About

Aberdulais, near Neath in South Wales, is home to a dramatic waterfall tumbling over sandstone ledges into a wooded gorge formed during the last Ice Age. The site combines natural beauty with industrial heritage, featuring remains of historic copper, corn‑milling and tinplate works powered by the River Dulais over 400 years. Aberdulais also features an 8.2 m steel waterwheel, although this is currently closed for restoration. The well‑maintained pathways offer varied vantage points of the falls and heritage structures.

Visitors can enjoy a 3.5 km (approx. 2.2 mile) circular walk beginning at the National Trust car park just off the A465. This scenic trail loops through Craig Gwladys Country Park and along the Tennant Canal, taking around two hours and rated moderate in difficulty. Even though this is a National Trust property, the heritage site itself is free to enter, including the displays, viewing platforms, café and gift shop.
