About Rodney Parade
Rodney Parade is a historic multi-purpose stadium on the east bank of the River Usk in the heart of Newport, South Wales. Home to the professional rugby side the Dragons and to Newport County AFC, it opened in 1877 and is one of the oldest grounds still in use in the English Football League. Long the home of Newport RFC, it remains one of the region's most storied sporting venues, having hosted touring sides including the All Blacks and Springboks.
With a capacity of around 8,700 for rugby and 7,850 for football, the ground combines covered stands and a terrace for an atmospheric matchday close to the action. Alongside Dragons and Newport County fixtures, it hosts conferences, dinners, private events and weddings through its hospitality facilities. Set within easy walking distance of Newport's railway and bus stations, just across the river from the city centre, it is a convenient and characterful venue for sport and events alike.
