Steve

I'm Steve, founder and driving force behind South Wales Guide.  I live in Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan, so I'm regularly getting to see places around here and Cardiff, but the best part of running the platform is exploring the whole of the region.

I created South Wales Guide because I'm passionate about showcasing this incredible part of the world - I feel so lucky to live by the coast, but then to have mountains and a national park less than an hour away, and a capital city on my doorstep with all that brings, it's the best of everything in one place.

Q&A With Steve

Where's your favourite place in South Wales?

This is a tough question!  It's really hard to choose just one spot, because it totally depends on what I'm doing, with so many different types of things to do here, however if I had to pick just one spot I think it would be Rhossili Bay - I love the wild feeling and listening to the waves, with fond memories of watching the sunset there.

What do you enjoy doing away from running the website?

I enjoy getting out and exploring, whether that's in South Wales or further afield.  I've always worked in the tourism industry, and prior to this I ran a ski holiday business, so I'm a keen skier and love being in the mountains.

What’s one thing you can’t work without?

Coffee!  I'm rarely at my desk without one, and when I'm out and about I always like to find a good coffee shop.  Living in Penarth I do like to make the most of the cliff top path to take in the views and fresh air, so often pop to Willmore's for a takeaway coffee to walk with.
